How long does it take to make a darn tablecloth?

Admittedly it was peppered with phone calls, cat tickles and parakeet watching. But seriously, it took me nearly 3 hours to cut the damn fabric! The tablecloth is now ready to be sewn first thing tomorrow - all hems have been ironed and pinned. I am planning to cut out the napkins later. Marvellous.

In the meantime, here are some photos of N's broccoli and a beautiful hellebore (possibly...) that are currently enjoying the garden.
I am always surprised at the activity in our garden. It's only when you take time out that you truly appreciate the spaghetti junction that is our 145' space outside. If it's not the 5 neighbourhood cats prowling around, it's the parakeets, starlings, great tits and black birds fighting over the bird feeder. There was an absolute hullabaloo in the garden this morning. The parakeet was ticking Blue off for disturbing his breakfast. Blue looked rather sheepish... The lame fox was limping around this afternoon too. As animal loving as we are - it's a different kettle of fish when you have to share your garden with mangy foxes living off KFC chicken and food left out for them by neighbours (so irresponsible, I don't know where to begin!) and the squirrels who decimate everything in their path. Arghhhh!
