Let them eat cake!

Thank you for all of your kind comments following my last post. It's been a traumatic couple of days, an emotional roller coaster, but the head is starting to clear and I am beginning to feel human again. Obviously, I've procrastinated probably more than when I did my finals and the washing basket has never been emptier. Oh, and I took myself off on Thursday to have a 'breaking up' hair cut, as Mr M put it. My family and friends have been amazing - I have been so touched by some of the smallest things. And now, I am counting down the days until all of the legal bits and bobs are tied up, at which point I will be able to start thinking about the future properly.

Above is the marble cake I made on Thursday in a bit of a blur. I couldn't decide which photo to use, so used them all.* It's the first time I've made one. I love the swirly pattern - just like my scrambled thoughts at the moment. Next time, I'm going to add chocolate chips to the chocolate half of the mix. It got the thumbs up from Mr M. Needless to say that it has been gobbled up already - mostly by me, with each cup of tea and coffee, whilst working through my neverending to do list

* My decision making is currently shot, as is my concentration. Oh, and if anyone had said to me last year that I would be taking photographs of food, I would have laughed at them!!

  1. Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog, I am so sorry to read of your news, that's awful for you.
I don't think your marble cake would have lasted long in this house either! Take care
