I did this!

And Mr M only had to water them once!! There is only one spot in our flat which gets the right amount of sunlight and this is it. And I'm not to be trusted with the watering rota because, quite frankly, I forget. So, I'm even more excited that I grew these white beauties from bulbs and even remembered to water them. It is such a shame that I really, really, really don't like their scent - way too heady for me. Which also rules out hyacinths and lilies. Eurgh. But oh so pretty.

Oh and I finished The Lollipop Shoes this morning. Fantastic. A thoroughly enjoyable read. I savoured every moment with Vianne, Anouk, Rosette and Roux. Obviously I now want to live in Paris, with my own chocolate shop and cafe. Something else to add to the list!

  1. Hah, we share the same views on paperwhites. Haven't read that particular book but I loved Chocolat (watched the film last week for the umpteenth time).

  2. 'Tis true! They really do whiff. I would thoroughly recommend the book. I'm never keen on sequels, but it really was good!

  3. oh what a glorious mosaic, I clicked on it to enlarge it and those beautiful images filled the screen, it was wonderful!
I always look forward to planting pots of grape hyacinths for indoors too, they don't grow so tall and leggy as narcissi and don't whiff either.
