Z.

Zigzag and zing in one single zinnia* bloom at Sissinghurst earlier this year.

Zest is my foe, thanks to a citrus allergy, but at least it means that my sense of smell is pretty spot on. I can smell an orange being peeled a mile off - not exactly a special power but amusing nonetheless. It can make cocktail bars and Lebanese restaurants exciting too.

We always seem to end up in a zoo when we're on our travels. The little one in Central Park was so very small and lovely.

Oh, and I'm quite partial to a glass or two of Zinfandel.

Ze end.

I'm so glad you've enjoyed the alphabet which began by accident when Autumn arrived on the last day of August. Posting each day was more of a challenge than I had expected. Oddly, the hardest letter was 'U'.

So. Over to you. Who fancies taking on the Alphabet challenge next?

*I think it's a zinnia, but I'm not too sure...

  1. Oh dear, I'd find having a citrus allergy terribly difficult. No citrus at all?

And I'd love to take on the alphabet challenge! Perhaps on my next visit home (end of October), as I always find posting from home more difficult. I suppose it's being out of my usual element.

Very excited now! Must put thinking cap on...

  4. Well done - I love 'ze end!' and that is peculiar about your zest/citrus allergy! That is such a shame! Still wheat could be worse! May indeed do the alphabet challenge at some point - it was good fun sharing the journey with you xxx

  5. Congratulations!!

I quite like the idea that your superpower is a super sense of smell.

I don't think I'm quite up to the alphabet challenge. It'd take months of preparation if I was going to!

  7. Hurrah! Congratulations on all the letters. I'm in awe. I'd like to have a bash. I'm not sure I'd manage it though, and I'm certain I couldn't manage it daily. Phew, you're one impressive lady.

  8. Thank you - it has been fun checking in each morning to discover what you had chosen. I don't suppose you fancy the Russian alphabet now? Or perhaps a selection of hieroglyphs?
