Still here

Hello!! I appear to have handed my life over to my job. Not too sure when I signed it over - I blame the invisible ink on the contract. Lots of long days, travelling home on rather empty trains in the dark, turning the key in the door to a flat full of wonderful cooking aromas courtesy of Mr M. Too tired to turn on the laptop or pick on the phone. Time to catch the last few moments of MasterChef each night and whatever follows.

With weekdays a write-off at the moment, we tried to cram as much as we could into the weekend. Catching up with friends, quality time spent in the garden planting out bulbs for Spring (and then replanting on Sunday after the squirrels had dug them up) and birthday celebrations with the in-laws.

Sunday was spent sculpting the bay tree and entertaining a certain little chappy who needed quite a lot of jiggling.

And so, another week begins. Another late night home, a snatched phone conversation on the train and the alarm is set for another early start. And how dark that start was this morning. C'est la vie. The mortgage is getting paid and there is the Knitting and Stitching Show to look forward to. Hoorah.

  1. I so know how you feel - life can sometimes feel too full! And now the nights are drawing in it feels like things are almost overspilling. Still, it is good to be active - just make sure you get a little time to relax - you don't want to wear yourself down too much and catch a cold. Love the photo by the way -as ever! xxx

  2. The days seem to be getting away from me, too. Somehow I've completely lost the past week. But sounds like you're doing a much better job than I am at keeping it all in perspective! K x

  3. Oh wow. That is a truly gorgeous photo. I have to say I'd have probably walked right past [over or even across] that leaf without noticing it, but it paired with the simplicity of your background it beautiful. I'll go back and read your post now, had to mention the photo first though!

  4. Days like those are hard, I hope you manage to carve out a bit more "me time" soon.

  5. This is such a beautiful picture. It would make a lovely alternative Christmas card picture (I hope I'm right in thinking it's a form of holly).

Glad that you're back, I thought we'd worn you out with all the alphabetising. Sorry to hear that you're having a busy time. I hate that feeling and the hope of calmer days ahead are the only thing that will keep me from going loopy. Hope you get some more 'me' time soon. x
