Day two - New Covent Garden Flower Market

Giddy is the word. With excitement. With the early-ish start. With the possibilities. This flower market isn't just for trade, it's for you and me too. Who knew? We were shown around by the wonderful principal of the Academy, Gill, and her lovely helper Robyn. They introduced us to their suppliers, giving us hints and tips on what to look for and how to buy. Our group swiftly disappeared as we were drawn to a favourite bloom or an interesting colour. The vast aisles of vases and urns went on and on. I picked up a pair of flower scissors and 28m of cellophane wrap for an absolute bargain compared to the usual roll that I get from Paperchase.

I can't believe I've been wistfully looking at it on my way to work for the last 6 years. Wistful no more, I will definitely be returning.

    1. It is so worth going - even if you don't buy anything. You can pop in for a (very early) coffee in their cafe and they even have decent loos! xx
