Happy Monday

Hope you had a lovely weekend. We kicked ours off with Friday drinks two doors up - such a great idea. A note was popped through the door a couple of weeks ago inviting us to a gathering and we spent a delightful evening getting to know more of our neighbours over mulled wine and nibbles. I love it when you get such an eclectic mix of people and ages.

On Saturday, I met the lovely E for brunch and lashings of coffee in Borough Market followed by tea and a seriously delicious slice of Victoria sponge at Tate Modern on the terrace just as the storm arrived - we concluded it was time to go inside when glasses began to be blown off the tables. I fell in love with the Tate's Stump teapots - one will be going on my birthday wishlist in the summer. We popped into Bankside Gallery and saw some lovely prints by Angie Lewin and Anita Klein - it's a hidden gem if you're looking for an art book, card or print.

Sunday was spent doing chores and finishing off the Saturday Telegraph (really interesting article about Dale Chihuly, the artist behind the incredible glass sculpture at the V&A). Mr M cooked a huge joint of pork for 5 hours and we ate it taco style with avocado, sour cream, raw veg and chilli sauce. Miss P rediscovered the joy of the airing cupboard, proving far too wily and slippery for me as she hurled herself in there - twice.

How did you spend yours?

  3. That sounds like the most loveliest of weekends. We spent Saturday cleaning and preparing for a Burns' Night Dinner at ours and yesterday was spent doing planning for school and flopping out! x
