We have a west fa...Sounds like you need a hot wall. We have a west facing garden on the east coat of Ireland and the previous tenants planted rosemary, sage and marjoram against the south wall. When we moved in, everything was smothered in grass, and the marjoram wasn't salvageable, but in the six years we've been here, the rosemary has grown into a monster and has had to be hacked back several times.
