On a hot, dry afternoon, beneath the canopy of blue and green, three Red Admirals flitted and flirted. With each swoop they got lower, flying close to our ears disturbing the stillness with the beating thrum of their wings, until they settled to soak up the sun.
How beautiful, and how lucky to have the weather for butterflies. Any that ventured out here today would have been drowned.
