The blooming Mrs L and I shared one of these delights at my local patisserie the other weekend. Heaven in a bite.
Created in 1891 to commemorate the Paris-Brest-Paris bike race, these little choux fancies became a calorific must-have for the riders. I somehow doubt that they'll be on the menu for the Olympic cyclists as they zoom through Surbiton this summer.
As Mr M is partial to a spot of cycling, I thought I better test one (well, half) out on him. Cycling is on hold in this household until the warmer months, but that aside he declared his half winner.
I wonder if someone will be creating an edible something to commemorate the Olympics.
