Cinq

Hi de hi! Hope you had a lovely weekend. We celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary with sparkles, bubbles and an impromptu boat trip to Hampton Court. We felt like tourists - it was brilliant. The amazing weather helped. I can't believe we've not hopped on the boat before. For £3.50, you get to nose at the gardens of some incredible houses. I'd love one of the little island cabins to escape to. We were amazed by the number of people taking a dip - the relatively cool weather has meant that the water is far more appetising than normal. After 25 minutes we arrived at Hampton Court bridge and made our way to the Riverside Brasserie overlooking the river for some bubbles and a late lunch. Clutching ice creams, we meandered around the antique shops and a fab little art gallery, The Fountain Gallery, with the most incredible courtyard - such a tranquil space - before heading home on an ambling train.

A perfect day.

  1. I did that trip many moons ago for a birthday treat but not lucky enough to have that super brasserie waiting at the end of it. It looks great, one of the benefits of blogging is the opportunity to see reviews for places I can put on a list to try in the future. Thanks.

    1. Ooo - do try. The food was alright, but the view and atmosphere were just the ticket.
