No. 10 Downing Street

Did you know that there is contemporary craft and design at No. 10?

As part of the London Design Festival activities I was lucky enough to have a tour of the collection, led by the incredible curator Janice Blackburn (her enthusiasm is truly infectious). Having got over the excitement of knocking on the big black door to be admitted and climbing the hallowed staircase with former Prime Ministers lining the walls (but minus Hugh Grant dancing down them a la Love Actually), we were taken around the rabbit warren that sits behind the terrace to see some brilliant pieces of art. My favourites - a sugar cube sculpture of No. 10 by Brendan Jamison (you'll need to do a little scrolling...) and a pair of No. 10 ceramic vases by Annabel Johnson

Not to mention the Henry Moore I spied (from the Government collection), nor the unfinished Turner or the Bridget Riley...

And no sign of Larry - off mousing I'd imagine.
