Food, glorious food

Nothing quite like it for feeling stuffed by 6:30 on a Sunday evening. The lamb shanks were divine - easy peasy recipe - we had them with some homemade chunky chips, red/white cabbage braised in stock and al dente carrots and french beans. Once that had gone down, I served up apple and rhubarb crumble (using the crumble topping suggested by Tana minus the hazelnuts) with ice cream. To top it all off we ate outside with the wind roaring through the trees and us clinging onto the Sunday papers for dear life. Perfect.

p.s. I finally indulged my desire for some cherries. The need began in the French markets a couple of weeks ago and was reinforced by my two trips to Borough Market last week. And now I have my very own dish to gorge on. Brilliant.

  1. Just stumbled across your blog and have been catching up on past posts. Sounds like you produced a great meal. I'd have to say that crumble is one of my favourite puds, especially with vanilla ice cream. Oh, I could so just eat some right now!
