Day two - Easter greenery

Oasis -
1. A fertile spot in a desert where water is found.
2. A pleasant or peaceful area or period in the midst of a difficult, troubled, or hectic place or situation.

Oasis is a most peculiar thing. It comes in all shapes and sizes - balls, pint glasses, spanners, guitars...the list is endless. Be sure to soak in a bowl of water for 90 seconds and walk away. Don't be tempted to hold it down as it won't absorb the water properly. Once wet, you can cut the oasis to fit your vase - like a knife through butter it's quite fun, you've been warned...

This was one of my favourite arrangements from the three day course. An oasis ring covered in ivy, eucalyptus, rosemary, lemon balm, willow and flowers (Anemones, Agapanthus, White Allium, Lisianthus and a single white tulip).

  1. I'm not a fan of floral foam - it's chock full of toxic chemicals and will not biodegrade. So I embrace the stuffed in a vessel school of arrangement instead. Not half as elegant as yours I must admit.
