Simple suppers - Merchant Gourmet

An absolute supper saver recently has been this range of ready cooked lentils, grains and other loveliness. I know - 'loveliness' and 'lentils' aren't the most obvious companions but really these ones are great. The beluga lentils stirred through curried chicken and vegetables are delicious. The red and white quinoa makes a nice alternative to rice when added to Chinese-style leftover chicken. Quick and easy to use, we just add them to the saucepan and serve once hot.

This does sound like a sponsored post but it's not. We're so pushed for time thanks to work (my bad) and the commute (me again), that anything we find that might save us 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there, can only be a good thing. Whether it's hopping in a taxi to make sure I make my train (yup - me) or keeping a jar of Patak's curry paste in the fridge - every minute counts. Perhaps I should call this a sharing post. I've been raving about these packets to my team since I found them in Sainsburys - they think I'm nuts, but then they don't have to contend with SW Trains twice a day!

  2. Yes it's a lovely range.

Feel your pain with SWT, 2h45m journey to work on Wednesday due to their signal failure AND Waterloo and city being off!

  3. I'm a fan of these as well. Tasty and healthy too. Hope you manage to get some 'me time' this weekend. It sounds like you need an opportunity to pause and give Miss P a cuddle! x
